Volkswagen seeking for a tyre supplier.
Volkswagen carried on the audit at Nizhnekamskshina to seek for the tyre suppliers for the new production line in Kaluga, the comapny informed.
The specialists considered the whole technological chain of the production; the emphasis being centered on the division for the production of the Pirelli-developed tyres.
The Company was estimated at 89 points out of 100.
Similar audit was carried on at Yaroslavsky and Voronezhsky Tyre plants.
Nizhnekamskshina is the largest tyre maker in CIS under the Kama trade mark.
The capacity is fixed to reach 12.9mln pcs/y. The Plant covers 30% of the production market. it includes 3 production lines: truck tyres, car tyres and mass tyres. Out of the total volume 23% are delivered to the Russian car plants, 59% - to the secondary market; remained being exportedto 70 countries. The Plant is included into Tatneft and from 2006 is working under the processing terms. Over 2001-2007 period 4.8bn rub. were invested in the development. In 2007 12.4mln tyres worth 6.2bn rub. were made to provide 169mln rub. in the pretax profit.
